Last Tuesday and Wednesday, our riders were once again competing in Riesenbeck. Two days of national indoor competitions were on the schedule for our young horses before the outdoor season begins soon.
Right in the first two classes on Thursday morning, the 7-year-old Wilma SEM placed under Ludger in the M* and M** classes. The 7-year-old Conrad also delivered a clear round over 125cm but narrowly missed a placing; however, under James he went on to secure a placing in the following 130cm class. In the afternoon, Team Beerbaum celebrated their first victory: the 9-year-old Trouble Lady EQ Z won the S* class (140cm) with James in the saddle.
Wednesday continued successfully. In the L-level (110cm) young horse class for 5-year-olds, all three of our starters placed. James rode Come True de Maya to second place with a score of 8.3 and Mumbai’s daughter India to fifth place with a score of 8.0. Roorkee FP, also by Mumbai, received a score of 7.8, finishing seventh. In the subsequent L-level young horse class for 6- and 7-year-olds, Zinado placed second under James with a score of 8.6, while Havanero Blue followed closely in third with an 8.5.
The 6-year-old Piet van t’ Loo was particularly impressive. In the M* young horse class, he received a score of 9.0 for his harmonious and confident round under James, securing victory among more than 50 starters. Havanero Blue once again delivered a lovely round, placing second with a score of 8.7. Zinado also earned his second placing of the day, finishing fourth with a score of 8.4 under James.
In the final class of the day, an M* show jumping competition for 6- to 8-year-old horses, Chase and James secured third place with a fast and faultless round.
Once again, our young horses demonstrated their potential in Riesenbeck, and we look forward to their continued development.
