Just a little over a month after the victory in the Grand Prix of Riesenbeck stayed on home soil with Philipp and Callao L, Team Beerbaum celebrated another home win this weekend. This time, it was Ciaran and Megalon K who took home the victory.

But Team Beerbaum was already successful on home ground on the very first day of competition on Friday. Our newest team member, Philipp Schulze Topphoff, competing in Riesenbeck for the first time in the grey jacket, placed both of his horses, Wilma SEM and Ferrari v/h Sassenbroek Z, with clear and fast rounds in the first class of the day, the opening competition of the Youngster Tour. In the following first class of the Light Tour, Filippo rode the 8-year-old Cazaan'S Cecotto B to fourth place, followed directly behind in fifth by Philipp S.T. with the also 8-year-old I Had A Dream.

Friday afternoon already featured the first highlight of the weekend with the 2* Ranking class, and Team Beerbaum impressed once again. Philipp W. and Callao L secured the win with almost a one-second lead. Ciaran and Megalon K followed in third place, while Philipp S.T. and Najac vh Kluizebos also claimed a placing in the first class of the big tour.

Saturday once again began with placings in the Youngster Tour. Wilma SEM and Ferrari v/h Sassenbroek Z once again earned placings under Philipp S.T., while the 7-year-old Conrad also brought home a ribbon with Filippo. In the second class of the big tour, Ciaran chose the 9-year-old Babuschka Dree Boeken on Saturday and secured third place over 1.45m. Ciaran and Babuschka Dree Boeken were also back in action in Sunday’s Medium Tour Final, where they once again finished in third place. Our horses were also successful again in the Youngster Tour on Sunday morning. Wilma SEM also placed in the final under Philipp S.T., completing the weekend with exclusively clear rounds and three placings from three starts. The two 6-year-olds Havanero Blue and Piet Van T' Loo also placed in the final with James.

In Sunday afternoon’s Grand Prix of Riesenbeck, Philipp W., Ciaran, James and Philipp S.T. all competed. A rail down for Philipp S.T. and Najac vh Kluizebos in the first round meant they narrowly missed out on the jump-off. However, Philipp W. with Kilmister, Ciaran with Megalon K, and James with Dia Chapila PS all completed the first round without faults and qualified for the jump-off. In total, eight of the 38 combinations qualified for the deciding jump-off in the Grand Prix of Riesenbeck, with three of those eight combinations coming from Riesenbeck. Even before the jump-off, this was already a showcase result for Team Beerbaum.

However, Philipp W. decided not to start in the jump-off with Kilmister, as several challenges still lie ahead for the 10-year-old gelding in the coming weeks. Ciaran and Megalon K were the fifth pair to go in the jump-off. Up to that point, Colombian rider Ruben Arroyave and Diarona PS had set the fastest time. With tight turns and a high pace, the Riesenbeck pair managed to beat the leading time by almost one second. James and Dia Chapila PS were the final pair to compete in the jump-off. This meant that a victory for Team Beerbaum had already been secured before the final ride, but although James and Dia Chapila PS also delivered a clear round, their time was not fast enough, leaving them in fourth place. The victory in the Grand Prix of Riesenbeck therefore went to Ciaran and Megalon K.

It was a successful weekend for Team Beerbaum on home soil in Riesenbeck, crowned by victories in both the Ranking class and the Grand Prix. Already this week, the next stage of the Longines Global Champions Tour awaits in Madrid, where Ciaran and Philipp W. will compete for Team Riesenbeck International. At the same time, James will travel to the Hamburg Derby to represent the team there and Philipp S.T. will be at the show in Eindhoven.
