Philipp’s fourth week of competition in Doha began last Wednesday. Joining him for the first time was the 12-year-old Mastermind RL, who will now strengthen Philipp’s stable. The gelding by Mylord Carthago, bred by Rasmus Lüneburg, has moved from the stable of Torben Köhlbrandt to Riesenbeck and was already successfully competing with Philipp in Doha this weekend.

As early as Friday, in only their second start together, the pair secured a placing in a 3* class over 1.40m. With only two time faults in the first round, the new combination narrowly missed qualification for the jump-off but still claimed a top-10 placing. Callao L and Karaldo also each achieved a placing in the 5* tour this weekend.

In Saturday’s 3* Grand Prix, victory went to French rider Lara Tryba aboard Chageorge, who left our stable only a few weeks ago and is now already celebrating great successes with Lara Tryba. We are very pleased about this successful partnership.

At the indoor show in Herbergen-Essen, James competed on Friday and Saturday. With the 6-year-old Piet van t’Loo, he secured a placing in a show jumping class for young horses, receiving a score of 8.2. On Saturday, he followed this up with another placing in the 1.40m class with jump-off aboard Elzandor. Eight of the 47 combinations completed the course without faults and qualified for the decisive jump-off, including the pair from Riesenbeck. James and Elzandor also delivered a clear round in the jump-off, finishing in fourth place.

Philipp will once again compete in Doha next week, before the next Late Entry show takes place at home in Riesenbeck on 24 and 25 February.
