The past competition week already got underway on Thursday at the CSI** in Riesenbeck with the first placing, as Elzandor Z and James delivered a beautiful and clear round in the Longines Ranking class over 1.45 m. In the Small Tour on Friday, Max collected another placing for Team Beerbaum in the saddle of Serendepety, and in the following Light Tour, Filippo also secured a placing with the 8-year-old Cazaan’S Cecotto B. In the second class of the Youngster Tour, the 6-year-old Ascaro O remained clear with Ludger in the saddle and finished in eighth place.
Sunday then started with a victory for Team Beerbaum, as the 8-year-old Ogana Sitte SR won the Small Tour Final presented by Fundis with Ciaran. In the subsequent Light Tour Final, Filippo and Cazaan’S Cecotto B placed again, this time finishing fourth. There was also another placing in the Youngster Tour Final for Team Beerbaum. Ascaro O once again jumped a clear round and, with Ludger and thanks to a fast second phase, secured seventh place as the best 6-year-old horse in the final.
In the afternoon, the Grand Prix of Riesenbeck was on the schedule. A total of 53 competitors were on the start list, and 16 qualified for the jump-off with a clear round. While Ciaran and Megalon K had one rail down and James and Elzandor Z had to accept two faults, Philipp, riding Callao L, completed the first round without penalties and qualified for the jump-off. In the jump-off, the pair also remained clear in front of their home crowd and secured victory in the Grand Prix of Riesenbeck with a lead of half a second. Second place went to Sweden’s Karin Martinsen riding Tailormade Concha Balou, while third place was taken by Sophie Hinners and Event de l'Heribus.
It was also a successful weekend in Riesenbeck for the 7-year-old Stacoa (Stakkato Gold x Coriolan), who is owned by Beerbaum Stables and was presented by Tom Schewe in the Youngster Tour. In the first class on Thursday, the pair finished second, and they went on to win both the second class on Saturday and the final on Sunday with a lead of five seconds and one second respectively.
Next up for Team Beerbaum is the first leg of the Longines Global Champions Tour in Miami, where Philipp and Ciaran will compete for Team Riesenbeck International.
