After only two weeks together: Philipp and Mastermind RL finish second in the 3* Grand Prix of Doha
The show week for Team Beerbaum already began last Wednesday in nearby Steinhagen. The five-year-old Zafiro by Zinedine, who is once again available this year via fresh semen through the stallion station Beerbaum, impressed under Ciaran in the young horse classes, finishing third in two classes with scores of 8.5 and 8.4. In another class for young horses over 110 cm, the six-year-old Alibaba also delivered a lovely round with Ciaran and was rewarded with a score of 8.5 and second place.
In Borken, the show began on Thursday with a victory for James and Come True de Maya. The five-year-old won the class for young horses over 110 cm with a score of 8.4. On Friday, our young Norwegian rider Max produced a fast and clear round aboard Serendepety in the class over 135 cm, finishing in second place. Saturday also continued successfully at the facility of Marcus Ehning. Ciaran and Ogana Sitte SR confidently won the class over 135 cm, and James and the six-year-old Havanero Blue claimed victory in the young horse class over 110 cm with a score of 8.5. In the subsequent class over 125 cm, Havanero Blue once again delivered a lovely round and finished sixth with a score of 8.2. The five-year-old Piet van t’Loo also secured a placing in this class. With a score of 8.3, he finished fourth together with James. To conclude the show in Borken, Elzandor Z and James placed seventh in the class over 140 cm with a clear round for the Riesenbeck pair.
While James, Ciaran and Max were celebrating successes around Riesenbeck, Philipp was once again competing in Doha. As early as Wednesday, Callao L placed in a class of the 3* tour over 135 cm, and the nine-year-old gelding owned by Alice Lawaetz also secured a placing on Thursday. Another placing followed on Saturday for Callao L, who once again confirmed his strong form and finished in the ribbons in every class he competed in.
Also on Thursday, the nine-year-old Lady Concern du Rezidal competed in a 5* class over 155 cm with jump off. Thirty-seven combinations started, and eleven of them completed the course clear to qualify for the jump off, including Philipp and Lady Concern du Rezidal. With another clear round in the jump off, the pair secured sixth place in the ranking class. Victory once again went to Scott Brash, this time in the saddle of Hello Jefferson, who has already taken home several wins these recent weeks.
Saturday in Doha began for Philipp with the 3* Grand Prix over 150 cm. He chose Mastermind RL, who has only been part of the team for two weeks. With a clear round, the pair confidently qualified for the jump off, in which seven of the 33 combinations competed for victory. The twelve-year-old gelding by Mylord Carthago also impressed in the jump off with a clear round and a fast time. They were only beaten by Nadja Peter Steiner with Quarantinette Vt Hazelarenhoekje and ultimately finished second.
At the same time as Philipp’s successes in Doha, six horses from Riesenbeck set off for Spain, where Ciaran will compete over the next three weeks at the Sunshine Tour in Vejer de la Frontera. Another late entry show will also take place in Riesenbeck on Tuesday and Wednesday.
