20.07.1985Philipp Weishaupt – A Life in Equestrian Sports
Philipp was born in Augsburg, Bavaria, in 1985. His parents run a farm in Jettingen with around 70 horses, where he grew up and competed in his first shows at the age of eight. With his first own pony Rocky, he worked his way through novice and elementary class show jumping until he took over Juno, an old Grand Prix horse owned by his father Josef. His career quickly took off - by the age of 15, he already had the Golden Riding Badge in his pocket. The Weishaupts are a horse family through and through - not only was Philipp's father successful in the show jumping saddle, his brother Maximilian Weishaupt is also a professional show jumper. Ludger Beerbaum quickly became aware of the talented Bavarian. An internship after his secondary school leaving certificate turned into a permanent position as a rider in 2003. He passed his rider examination in 2008 as the best of his year. “Philipp is a go-getter,” is how Ludger Beerbaum characterizes his rider. Philipp is also a winning rider, but when it comes to winning, his boss says he “sometimes lets his hair down”.
He has been married to dressage rider Domenika Issing since 2019 and they have been the proud parents of little Jakob since the beginning of 2023.

Philipp Weishaupt – Celebrating 20 Years with Beerbaum Stables
Over the past 20 years at Beerbaum Stables, Philipp Weishaupt has achieved numerous successes. He is a multiple German Champion, has won Nations Cups with the German team on several occasions, and has earned three medals at the European Championships. Most recently, in 2023 in Italy, he claimed the silver medal in the individual competition riding the 9-year-old Zineday.
The year 2023 was especially remarkable for Philipp. As a member of the Riesenbeck International team, he celebrated multiple podium finishes during the Longines Global Champions League season. The year concluded on a high note when Philipp and his team secured the overall victory in Riyadh. Just three weeks later, Philipp played a crucial role in breaking another record for the Global Champions League. Riesenbeck International also won the Playoffs in Prague, an achievement no team had accomplished before.
In 2024, Philipp and Zineday were part of the German team at the Olympic Games in Paris. The pair delivered two great clear rounds for the team, but unfortunately, it wasn’t enough for a team medal in Paris. In the individual final, they were just a bit unlucky – in the end, Philipp and the 10-year-old Zineday finished in 12th place.
