The DSP elite stallion Colestus is one of the absolute best, in terms of his own performanceand his offsprings performance. Under Ludger Beerbaum, the powerful gray secured placings at CSI5* tournaments in both Hong Kong and Paris, the World Cup tournaments in Verona, Madrid and Stuttgart, as well as the Global Champions Tours in Antwerp, Hamburg and Shanghai. With Christian Kukuk in the saddle, Colestus was among the front runners in Grand Prix’s and other top show jumping competitions in Berlin, Shanghai, New York, Doha, Riesenbeck and Oldenburg.
Colestus owes his place in the WBFSH ranking of the world's best show jumping sires to his numerous highly successful offspring. Highlights of his offspring include fourth place for Greya and Kent Farrington at the World Cup final in Riyadh, the Olympic debut of Colestus Cambride under Katharina Rhomberg, Cellagon Cascais earned the runner-up spot in the Valkenswaard Grand Prix with Janne Friederike Meyer-Zimmermann and Shane Breen continues to compete successfully with Colmar, a1.60 meter show jumper.
The previously mentioned stallions Cellagon Cascais and Colmar head the list of more than ten licensed sons of Colestus. And the next generation is gearing up to take the show jumping scene by storm, such as the Holstein Champion Stallion Conchezz and the DSP Champion Mare Bella Colestus.
The sire and European Team Champion Cornet Obolensky [Marco Kutscher] is regarded as one of the most influential horses in modern show jumping breeding. The dam, St.Pr.St. Spice Girl R, is herself a sister to the licensed Wessex (by Watzmann; 1.40 m jumper) and other internationally successful jumpers. St.Pr.St. Spice Girl R also produced Caprice (by Captain Fire) a 1.40 m show jumper. On the dam's side, the top sires Stakkato, Pilot and Durchlaucht are in direct succession.
