The very typey, elegant Estrix vom Claashof, standing in the desired rectangular frame, impressed at the 2025 Hanoverian Licensing in Verden with exceptionally intelligent and powerful jumping. His technique is flawless, his take-off efficient, his basic gaits loose – everything always appearing effortless and marked by great awareness. The son of Ermitage Kalone is out of a half-sister to the Olympic gold medalist Esprit FRH under Lars Nieberg.
Ridden by Belgian Gilles Thomas, Ermitage Kalone ranks among the best jumping stallions in the world. Not only did he compete in the Olympic final in Paris in 2024, but in 2025 he also claimed team gold and individual bronze at the European Championships in A Coruña with five clear rounds, and was part of the runner-up team at the Global Champions Tour Super Cup in Prague (CZE). Nearly 20 of his sons have already been licensed, including the two BWP champion stallions Ultra Star JM and Vitalis JS Van Het Hagenbroek. His first offspring are proving themselves successfully on the international young horse circuit.
The dam, Contendro’s Deern, also produced the licensed stallion Lord Contendro (by Lord Z) and Curley Sue (by Cornet Obolensky), who was successful in show jumping up to 1.40 m.
The dam sire Contendro I produced an entire armada of successful show jumpers and eventers and for many years ranked among the leading jumping sires in the WBFSH standings.
The granddam Fürstin herself competed successfully up to 1.45 m and was classified as a performance mare in show jumping. In addition to the aforementioned Olympic gold medalist Esprit FRH (by Eiger I), she also produced the two 1.50 m jumpers For Fantasie (by For Pleasure), ridden by Luciana Diniz (BRA), and Emilio (by Eiger I), ridden by Lars Nieberg and Michael Symmangk, the latter of whom was also a licensed stallion.
From the Nogalte line – one of the most successful Hanoverian mare families of all time – descend numerous additional stallions such as FST Dipylon (Michael Kölz), Canstakko (Takashi Haase Shibayama/JPN), Aga Khan Z (Angelique Böckmann), Calox (Kevin Jochems/NED), Max Wachmann (IRL), First Game H (Hannes Baumgart), and Angelo Z, as well as outstanding sport horses including the 1987 European Championship team bronze medalist Daniela (Ulrich Kirchhoff), Olympic jumper Hernando du Sablon (Alejandro Jordá/ESP), Contanga (Alberto Zorzi/ITA), Carriere (Daniel Deußer), and Sam (Peter Lutz/USA).
