At the remarkable age of 35, the stallion who accompanied Ludger Beerbaum’s career like hardly any other horse, has passed away in his home stable in Riesenbeck.
In a unique and outstanding career, Goldfever won gold medals at the Olympic Games, European Championships, and German Championships. His victories in the Grand Prix of Aachen and Calgary hold a very special place and made him a legend of show jumping.
After the end of his sporting career in 2009, he was breeding for some time at the Beerbaum Stallion station and, in recent years, enjoyed his retirement on the farm in Riesenbeck.
“Of course, we are all very sad today that Goldfever is no longer with us – but we also look back with great gratitude and a little pride on his successes and the time we shared,” says Ludger, expressly including Marie Johnson, who cared for Goldfever during his time as a sport horse, and Petra Schmid, who looked after him every single day until the very end.
Together with his owner Madeleine Winter-Schulze, the entire team at Beerbaum Stables says, “Thank you, Goldfever, and farewell.”
