Stockholm Hearts win the GCL stage in New York
After the only stage of the Global Champions Tour in Germany, the hot autumn is now beginning for the teams in the highly lucrative international series Global Champions League and Longines Global Champions Tour: this weekend they are guests within sight of the Statue of Liberty in New York, then at the premiere in Vienna in front of Schönbrunn Palace, then to Rome's Circus Maximus, then to Rabat, the capital of Morocco, and finally to Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia.
In New York, the riders of Stockholm Hearts and their horses were the most successful in acclimatizing. With only one jumping fault after two rounds and the fastest time, they won this 12th of 16 stages ahead of the Madrid in Motion team – also with one jumping fault – and the Riesenbeck International team.
Riesenbeck International took two podium places within a week with riders Marco Kutscher, who remained faultless twice on Aventador and Catelly, and Maximilian Weishaupt, who had two knockdowns on Zuccero, thus collecting important points in the interim standings. The riders managed by team boss Ludger Beerbaum are now in fifth place.
Team boss Ludger Beerbaum: “It's a shame, the second podium place in a row. Victory would have been possible today. We are improving – slowly, step by step.”
