Riesenbeck International in fifth place
While the equestrian nations crowned their champions at the World Equestrian Festival in Aachen and 50,000 spectators cheered frenetically for each participant in the huge grass stadium, at the same time, on the smallest riding arena of all the Global Champions League stages in Monaco, the main focus was on collecting valuable points for the overall standings. In front of an exclusive audience at the Port Hercule marina in Monte Carlo, Team Valkenswaard United once again proved to be the best at this. The riders of Jan Tops, the inventor of the show jumping series, won and are now leading the interim standings by some distance. The Basel Cosmopolitains rode to second place, with the Stockholm Hearts coming in third.
Riders Emanuele Camilli and Maximilian Weishaupt from Riesenbeck International took fifth place. Team manager Ludger Beerbaum said after the competition: “I should have put Marco Kutscher in today. With his two clear rounds in the individual competition, he would have secured a place on the podium.”
After eight stages, Riesenbeck International is in eighth place in the overall standings.
