While Philipp W. travelled to Paris with Team Riesenbeck International for the next leg of the Longines Global Champions Tour, James, Ciarán and Filippo competed in nearby Steinhagen. On Thursday, Ciarán rode the 6-year-old Conthargo R to sixth place in a class for young horses (1.15 m) with a score of 8.2. He also secured a placing in the subsequent class over 1.20 m, this time with the 5-year-old Zafiro by Zinedine, earning a score of 8.3. In Friday’s youngster class over 1.20 m, Filippo and the 8-year-old Cazaan’s Cecotto B produced two clear phases to finish sixth. On Saturday, James competed in a class over 1.35 m with the 9-year-old Trouble Lady EQ Z. A clear round earned the pair sixth place in the class.

To conclude the weekend, James rode both Coffee Shock and Trouble Lady EQ Z in an S* two-phase jumping class over 1.40 m. Both horses completed the course without penalties, and, thanks to the fastest time, Coffee Shock claimed victory. Trouble Lady EQ Z finished in sixth place.

At the Longines Global Champions Tour in Paris, the competition weekend began with the Global Champions League leg on Friday evening. Although Philipp travelled to the event as the team’s third rider, he did not compete in the team competition.

In the individual qualifier for the Grand Prix, Philipp and Chaquitos PS finished eighth. Despite having one rail down, their fast time was enough to secure a placing. As a result, Philipp also qualified for Saturday’s Grand Prix. Representing Team Riesenbeck International, Marco Kutscher and Max Weishaupt claimed the second consecutive stage victory. A report on the Paris leg can be found here:

In Sunday’s highest-paying 5* class, Philipp chose to compete with the 9-year-old Lady Concern du Rezidal. The pair produced a clear round to qualify for the jump-off and remained without faults there as well. Sixteen of the 47 combinations advanced to the jump-off, but a fast round secured third place for the pair on Sunday afternoon.

After just one week off, the LGCT continues from 1 to 4 July with the Monaco leg, which is also the final event before the home leg in Riesenbeck.
